Restore your cat’s gut from the inside out — AnimalBiome Gut Restore is a feline supplement that uses Fecal Microbiota Transplantation (FMT) science to replenish your cat’s gut with a diverse community of beneficial bacteria. If your cat suffers from chronic digestive issues, loose stools, or recurring gut problems, this is the supplement that gets to the root cause.

Science-backed FMT technology — Developed by AnimalBiome, a pioneer in pet microbiome research, Gut Restore contains prescreened faecal material from healthy donor cats, rigorously tested for pathogens, parasites and microbiome composition. This delivers thousands of cat-specific bacterial strains that standard probiotics simply cannot replicate.

Give capsules whole — The vegetarian capsules are delayed-release, so they must be given whole and not opened or crushed. The coating is what carries the contents safely past the stomach to release in the intestine. Store in a cool, dry place; refrigeration is not required.

Supports long-term digestive health — Gut Restore is designed to address the underlying imbalances behind chronic digestive issues in cats, including diarrhoea, constipation and vomiting. AnimalBiome recommend giving it for at least 30 days, so choose your pack size based on your cat’s daily dose — see How to Use for the dosing guide.

Trusted by vets and cat owners — AnimalBiome’s Gut Restore range is backed by peer-reviewed microbiome research and trusted by veterinarians across the USA. Now available exclusively in the UK at Boss Pets, with fast dispatch and reliable delivery.

Key Features

FMT-based gut restoration – Uses prescreened feline faecal material from healthy donor cats.

30 delayed-release capsules – Vegetarian capsules with a delayed-release coating.

Broad-spectrum microbiome support – Delivers thousands of cat-specific bacterial strains, far beyond standard probiotics.

Developed by AnimalBiome – Pioneers in pet microbiome science and research.

Give capsules whole – Do not open or crush. The delayed-release coating protects the contents through the stomach so they reach the intestine intact.

No refrigeration needed – Store in a cool, dry place.

Made in the USA – Produced to the highest quality standards.

Benefits

Restores gut microbiome diversity – Replenishes beneficial bacteria lost through illness, antibiotics, or poor diet.

Reduces chronic digestive issues – Helps address diarrhoea, constipation, and vomiting at the root cause.

Supports immune function – A healthy gut microbiome is essential for a strong immune system.

Promotes long-term gut health – Designed for lasting improvement, not just temporary relief.

Suitable for cats with IBD or IBS – Helps manage inflammatory bowel conditions naturally.

How to Use

Give capsules whole, by mouth – Do not open or crush them. The delayed-release coating is what allows the contents to pass through the stomach and release in the intestine, so opening a capsule stops it working as intended.

Starting out – If your cat is stable, give 1 capsule daily for the first 3 days before moving to the level below that fits their symptoms.

Moderate symptoms or imbalance – 1 capsule once daily.

Severe symptoms or imbalance – 1 capsule twice daily.

Sensitive cats – Start with a single capsule and wait 3 to 4 days before giving the next, then build up gradually.

If stools loosen – Pause for 2 to 3 days, then restart at 1 capsule every other day and build back up slowly.

Give for at least 30 days – Continuous use is needed for the microbiome to re-establish.

Storage – Store in a cool, dry place. Refrigeration is not required.

Consult your vet – Especially if your cat has a health condition or takes medication.

How It Works

FMT science – Fecal Microbiota Transplantation introduces diverse, healthy gut bacteria from screened donor cats.

Restores microbial balance – Repopulates the gut with a wide range of beneficial microorganisms.

Crowds out harmful bacteria – A diverse microbiome naturally suppresses the growth of harmful pathogens.

Supports the gut-immune axis – Promotes healthy communication between the gut microbiome and immune system.

Why Choose

Beyond standard probiotics – FMT delivers hundreds of bacterial species, far more than any probiotic supplement.

Backed by microbiome research – Developed by AnimalBiome, leaders in pet gut health science.

Addresses root causes – Targets the underlying microbial imbalance, not just the symptoms.

Available at Boss Pets UK – Trusted UK supplier of premium USA pet health supplements.

Common Uses

Chronic diarrhoea or loose stools – Helps restore normal bowel function.

Post-antibiotic gut recovery – Replenishes beneficial bacteria depleted by antibiotic treatment.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) – Supports management of chronic gut inflammation.

Recurring vomiting or digestive upset – Addresses underlying microbial imbalances.

General gut health maintenance – Supports long-term digestive wellness in cats of all ages.

FAQs

What is AnimalBiome Gut Restore?

An FMT-based gut supplement for cats, containing prescreened faecal material from healthy donor cats to restore gut bacterial diversity.

Can I open the capsule and mix it with food?

No. AnimalBiome are clear that capsules must be given whole and should not be opened or crushed. They are delayed-release, so the coating carries the contents past the stomach and releases them in the intestine. Opening a capsule stops that happening.

How much should I give?

For a stable cat, 1 capsule daily for the first 3 days. After that it is 1 capsule once daily for moderate symptoms, or 1 capsule twice daily for severe symptoms. Sensitive cats should start with a single capsule and wait 3 to 4 days before the next.

What if my cat's stools get looser?

This can happen at the start. Pause for 2 to 3 days, then restart at 1 capsule every other day and build back up slowly.

Does it need to be refrigerated?

No. Store it in a cool, dry place.

How long will a pack last?

That depends on the dose. At 1 capsule daily a 30-capsule pack lasts 30 days; at 2 capsules daily it lasts 15. AnimalBiome recommend giving it for at least 30 days, so cats on the higher dose will need more than one pack.

How is it different from a regular probiotic?

Unlike standard probiotics containing a few bacterial strains, Gut Restore delivers thousands of cat-specific strains, providing far more comprehensive gut restoration.

Is it suitable for all cats?

For cats with health conditions or on medication, consult your vet before use.

Who makes it?

AnimalBiome, a USA-based company specialising in pet microbiome science. Available exclusively in the UK through Boss Pets.
