Joint support for dogs of 60–120 lb (27–54 kg) – Nutramax Dasuquin Soft Chews for Large Dogs combine glucosamine and chondroitin with avocado/soybean unsaponifiables (ASU), the ingredient that distinguishes Dasuquin from standard glucosamine formulas. Available at Boss Pets UK.

Five actives in a single soft chew – Each chew provides 900 mg glucosamine hydrochloride, 350 mg sodium chondroitin sulfate, 90 mg avocado/soybean unsaponifiables (standardised to a minimum of 30% unsaponifiables), 40 mg boswellia serrata extract and 32 mg green tea extract.

Dosed by weight – Dogs of 60–120 lb take two chews daily for the first 4 to 6 weeks, then one daily. Chews can be given as a treat or with food.

This is the formulation without MSM – Dasuquin with MSM is a separate product. Check which one you have been recommended before ordering, and use the version matched to your dog's weight.

A supplement, not a painkiller – Joint supplements support cartilage and comfort over weeks rather than relieving pain on the day. A dog that is limping, struggling to rise or suddenly reluctant to exercise should be seen by a vet, who can advise on pain relief and whether a supplement has a role alongside it.

How to Use

Dogs 60–120 lb (27–54 kg) – 2 soft chews daily for the first 4 to 6 weeks, then 1 chew daily.

Allow the full 4–6 week initial period – The higher starting amount is designed to build levels before moving to maintenance.

Give with or after food – Can be fed as a treat or alongside a meal.

Dogs under 60 lb or over 120 lb – Use the version matched to your dog's weight, and check the pack, as directions can be revised.

Consult your veterinarian – For dosing tailored to your dog's weight and condition.

How It Works

Dasuquin combines key ingredients like glucosamine, chondroitin, and ASU to enhance cartilage repair and prevent degeneration. Boswellia Serrata reduces inflammation in the joints, improving comfort and mobility, while Green Tea Extract provides antioxidants to support long-term joint health.

Why Choose

ASU sets it apart – Goes beyond glucosamine and chondroitin alone.

A single daily chew at maintenance – Straightforward to keep up long term.

Weight-banded strength – Formulated for dogs of 60–120 lb rather than scaled from a smaller size.

From Nutramax Laboratories – A long-established name in companion animal supplements.

A specialist UK stockist – Boss Pets carries an extensive Nutramax range, with fast UK delivery.

FAQs

What is it used for?

A joint supplement used to support cartilage health and comfortable movement in large dogs, particularly those that are ageing or showing stiffness.

How many chews a day does my dog need?

Dogs of 60–120 lb (27–54 kg) take two chews daily for the first 4 to 6 weeks, then one daily. Check the pack, as directions can be revised.

What is the difference between this and Dasuquin with MSM?

Dasuquin with MSM adds methylsulfonylmethane to the formula. This version does not contain MSM. They are separate products, so use whichever you have been recommended.

My dog weighs less than 60 lb — can I use this?

Use the small and medium dog version instead. The strengths differ, so breaking up a large chew is not a substitute.

How is Dasuquin different from Cosequin?

Dasuquin adds avocado/soybean unsaponifiables (ASU), plus boswellia and green tea extract, to the glucosamine and chondroitin base.

How long before I see a difference?

The initial period runs 4 to 6 weeks before moving to maintenance, and responses vary between dogs. A joint supplement works gradually rather than relieving pain on the day.

Does it contain soy?

Yes. Soy protein isolate is used in the chew base, and the ASU is derived from avocado and soybean.

What else is in the chew?

Glycerin, lecithin, mixed tocopherols as a preservative, natural flavour, rosemary extract, silicon dioxide, soy protein isolate, starch and vegetable oil.

Are there any side effects?

Mild digestive upset or an allergic reaction can occur in rare cases. Stop use and speak to your vet if you notice anything unusual.

Can it be given alongside other medication?

Check with your veterinarian before combining it with any prescribed medication, particularly anti-inflammatories.

When should I see my vet rather than reach for a supplement?

If your dog is limping, struggling to get up, yelping, or has suddenly become reluctant to walk. Those need diagnosis and often pain relief, which a supplement does not provide.

Is it suitable for long-term use?

It is formulated for ongoing daily use, with periodic veterinary review recommended.
