Fast-acting probiotic paste for dogs and cats with an upset stomach – VetriScience Quick Action Diarrhea Aid is a veterinarian-formulated paste for occasional diarrhoea and digestive upset, working in as little as a few hours and usually within 24. Available at Boss Pets UK in a 35 cc Dial-A-Serving tube.

Formerly sold as Fast Balance G.I. – VetriScience have renamed this product to Quick Action Diarrhea Aid, and tubes in circulation may still carry the Fast Balance name. The formula is unchanged.

Eight beneficial organisms plus B vitamins – A 4.97 g probiotic blend per 10 cc including L. acidophilus, E. faecium, L. casei, L. plantarum, B. subtilis and S. cerevisiae, with vitamins B2, B5 and B6 to support normal digestion.

Built for the moment, not the routine – Unlike daily probiotics, this is formulated to be given at the first sign of trouble and repeated until things settle. Keep one in the cupboard and one in the travel bag.

Key Features

Formerly sold as Fast Balance G.I. – VetriScience have renamed this product to Quick Action Diarrhea Aid. The formula is unchanged.

Works within 24 hours – Often within a few hours. Formulated for an immediate response rather than daily maintenance.

Eight beneficial organisms – A 4.97 g proprietary blend per 10 cc including L. acidophilus, E. faecium, L. casei, L. plantarum, B. subtilis and S. cerevisiae.

B vitamins included – Vitamin B5 10.5 mg, B6 2.5 mg and B2 1 mg per 10 cc, supporting normal digestion.

Dial-A-Serving tube – Set the dose on the barrel, so measuring by weight is straightforward.

Suits sensitive pets – A simple formula appropriate for pets with food sensitivities, and usable alongside other probiotics.

35 cc tube – Packable for travel. See How to Use for how far a tube goes by body weight.

Benefits

Immediate gut support – Designed to be given at the first sign of upset rather than built up over weeks.

Helps rebalance good bacteria – Eight organisms working to restore normal gut flora quickly.

Soothes occasional digestive upset – Including the loose stools that follow a change of food or a stressful event.

Useful after veterinary treatment – Supporting a healthy recovery when the gut has been disrupted.

Easy to give – A palatable paste straight from the tube, with no tablets to hide in an already-unsettled pet.

One product for dogs and cats – Dosed by body weight across both species.

How to Use

Up to 4.5 kg (10 lb) – 5 cc twice daily.

5–9 kg (11–20 lb) – 5 cc three times daily.

9.5–13.5 kg (21–30 lb) – 10 cc three times daily.

14–22.5 kg (31–50 lb) – 15 cc three times daily.

Over 23 kg (51 lb and above) – 20 cc three times daily.

How to give it – Dial the amount on the tube and give orally. Continue until results occur.

Buy enough for the dose – A 35 cc tube covers about 3 days for a cat or small dog, but barely half a day for a dog over 23 kg. Larger dogs will need more than one tube.

See your vet if it does not improve – Stop and consult your veterinarian if your pet worsens or does not improve. Store in a cool, dry place.

How It Works

Most probiotics are built for the long game: small daily doses that gradually shift the balance of gut flora. This one is built for the opposite situation. When a gut is disrupted — by a change of food, a stressful event, scavenging on a walk or a course of medication — the useful bacteria are depleted quickly, and a daily maintenance dose takes too long to make a difference. Quick Action Diarrhea Aid delivers a concentrated 4.97 g blend of eight organisms per 10 cc, including Lactobacillus and Enterococcus species alongside Saccharomyces cerevisiae, a yeast that works differently from bacterial probiotics and is unaffected by many antibiotics. The B vitamins support the normal digestive processes that the gut relies on while it re-establishes. Because it is concentrated and given several times a day, it works in hours rather than weeks — which is also why a tube does not last long at the larger doses.

Why Choose

Fast rather than gradual – Most probiotics take weeks; this is formulated to act within hours.

A paste, not a tablet – Far easier to give a pet who is already off their food.

Measured dosing built in – The Dial-A-Serving tube removes the guesswork for a 4 kg cat or a 30 kg dog.

Works alongside daily probiotics – It can be used with other gut supplements rather than replacing them.

Worth keeping in stock – Upsets rarely happen at a convenient hour, and this is a product you want before you need it.

Available at Boss Pets UK – Genuine VetriScience stock with fast UK delivery.

Common Uses

Occasional diarrhoea and loose stools – The everyday upsets that settle on their own but take a few uncomfortable days.

A change of food – Switching diets, or a new treat that has not agreed with them.

Nervous gut and situational stress – Boarding, travel, a house move or fireworks.

After veterinary treatment – Supporting the gut when medication has disrupted normal flora.

Travelling with pets – The tube packs easily for holidays and shows.

Pets with sensitive stomachs – A simple formula suited to pets with food sensitivities.

FAQs

Is this the same as Fast Balance G.I.?

Yes. VetriScience have renamed Fast Balance G.I. Paste to Quick Action Diarrhea Aid. The formula is unchanged, and tubes in circulation may still carry the Fast Balance name.

When should I see a vet instead?

Straight away if there is blood in the stool, repeated vomiting, severe lethargy, signs of dehydration such as dry gums or sunken eyes, or if your pet cannot keep water down. Also if diarrhoea lasts more than 24 hours. Puppies, kittens, elderly pets and pets with existing conditions should be seen sooner, as they dehydrate quickly.

How much should I give?

5 cc twice daily up to 4.5 kg; 5 cc three times daily from 5 to 9 kg; 10 cc three times daily from 9.5 to 13.5 kg; 15 cc three times daily from 14 to 22.5 kg; and 20 cc three times daily above 23 kg. Continue until results occur.

How long will a 35 cc tube last?

About 3 days for a cat or small dog on 5 cc twice daily, just over a day at 10 cc three times daily, and well under a day for a dog over 23 kg on 20 cc three times daily. Owners of larger dogs should order more than one tube.

How quickly does it work?

In as little as a few hours, and most pets show improvement within 24 hours.

What is in it?

Per 10 cc: a 4.97 g proprietary blend of S. cerevisiae, L. acidophilus, E. faecium, L. casei, L. plantarum, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus oryzae and B. subtilis, plus vitamin B5 10.5 mg, B6 2.5 mg and B2 1 mg. Inactive ingredients are glucose, sucrose, vegetable oil and yeast fermentation solubles.

Can I give it alongside my pet’s daily probiotic?

Yes. VetriScience state it can be used alongside other probiotic products.

Can it be used during or after antibiotics?

It is often used to support recovery after veterinary treatment. Check timing with your vet, as advice varies with the medication involved.

Is it suitable for pregnant or breeding animals?

Safe use has not been established, so check with your vet.

Will my pet take it?

It is a flavoured paste given straight from the tube, which is usually easier than a tablet for a pet who is already unsettled.

Where can I buy it in the UK?

VetriScience Quick Action Diarrhea Aid is available from Boss Pets UK with fast delivery.
