FAQs
FAQs
What is it used for?
Supporting healthy skin and plumage in birds, including poultry and waterfowl, using the LP3 Enzyme System with aloe vera and zinc gluconate.
How do I apply it?
Shake the bottle, lift the feathers and spray onto the skin rather than onto the feathers themselves. Twice daily, for two weeks, or as your vet directs.
Does it need washing off?
No. It is left on the skin, and it is non-toxic if preened.
Can it be used on young or very small birds?
It is formulated for birds of all kinds. With a young, very small or unwell bird, check with an avian vet first — small birds have little reserve and need handling kept to a minimum.
My bird is plucking — will this stop it?
It may soothe skin irritation that sits behind plucking, but plucking has many causes including husbandry, diet, illness, boredom and stress. If it persists, a vet experienced with birds should assess it.
Spray or solution?
The spray covers larger areas; the Avian Care Topical Solution suits targeted application to one spot.
When should I see a vet?
Wounds, swellings, bleeding, or a bird that is fluffed up, quiet, off their food or sitting at the bottom of the cage. Birds hide illness until they are very unwell, so do not wait.
